FAQs
These are the frequently asked questions we receive.
If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to contact us.
Is there treatment in the first appointment? If appropriate, treatment will start on your first visit. However, this may depend on timings, condition or whether further investigations, such as X-rays or MRIs, are needed.
How long will treatment last? Your first appointment will take up to an hour and follow up appointments will be 20-30 minutes.
What will treatment consist of? Treatments will consist of talk about how you are progressing, a concise physical examination and then a treatment. As all patients will have their own plans, the treatments themselves will vary but typically involve a combination of chiropractic manipulations, massage therapy and exercises.
How much does it cost? New patient appointments cost £70. Subsequent visits cost £50.
How many appointments will I need? The number of appointments can vary from patient to patient. Following your history and physical examination, we will discuss a recommended, personalised treatment plan but the decision of number of visits and treatment options are completely up to what you would like to do.
How long will it take to get better? Timeframes will vary greatly from patient to patient. The main factors are severity of complaint, how long you have had it and you're personal commitment to plans and external rehabilitation. Advice, information and recommendations will be provided following your history and physical examination in your first visit to best manage your condition.
Will I need to keep coming back? The answer is that it depends. For acute and non-repeating complaints a book if needed approach may be best. For more chronic or repeating complaints, a maintenance plan may be most effective as long term relief and prevention. These options will be recommended through-out.
What should I wear/Will I need to get undressed? Depending on your condition, I may need to see or have access to the area of complaint for examination and treatment. Normally loose fitting trousers, shorts, vest or sports bra which has access to shoulders are best options. However, your comfort is my priority so it is always up to you what you are most comfortable in and there is never any pressure to wear something you are not comfortable in or get undressed.
What is the cracking noise? That audible popping noise, usually from a chiropractic manipulation is an gas bubble in a joint popping. It is a safe and effective treatment when performed by a licenced professional.
